Three associations involved in the ASM space will participate in a roundtable on Thursday 4 June (13:00 to 14:30), Wits Mining Institute (3rd Floor, Wits ARM Building), with presentations from representatives of the Association of Artisanal & Small Scale Miners SA (AASSM-SA), the National Association of Artisanal Miners (NAAM), and Mining Affected Communities United in Action (MACUA)

The Wits ASM Research Forum is convened by the Wits Mining Institute (WMI) in partnership with the Society, Work and Politics Institute (SWOP). The Research Forum seeks to bring together interdisciplinary knowledge and critical scholarship on one of Africa’s most significant, yet persistently misunderstood, livelihood sectors, hosting monthly presentations by individual researchers, panels bringing together different disciplinary perspectives, and practitioner engagements with communities, government, and industry.
