MA Student

 Moosa Letageng, is a MA candidate in Social Development at the University of the Witwatersrand. She hold an Honours degree in Social Work from the University of Pretoria. Her research focuses on the challenges youth face in engaging in family building and care work due to unemployment in coal-dependent communities within the Lephalale region. She examine how energy transitions and structural economic changes affect young people’s roles in care, relationships, and their long-term livelihood development. Central to her work is a commitment to amplifying the voices of young people, advocating for inclusive policies that recognize their experiences and needs, and ensuring they are meaningfully included in social and economic development processes.
